Twin Atlantic to play Brighton’s Concorde 2 in March in support of new album

Twin Atlantic have recently returned with aplomb on the release of their fourth album ‘POWER’ last month – also their first release with Virgin EMI – and will be heading out on a UK tour next month in support of this incredible release.

Following a main stage performance at Reading & Leeds as well as a support slot at The 1975’s Glasgow gig, they are making their full live return with the March launch tour, which will see them stop off at Brighton’s iconic Concorde 2 on March 18th.

The trio took a different approach to this record, as advised by former producer turned pal Jacknife Lee. He encouraged them to build their own studio and essentially produce the album themselves, which has resulted in a dramatic shift in style and tone.

And rather than isolate themselves as they used to when making music, they instead did the opposite and surrounded themselves with a barrage of input to reflect the way we all live these days. “We used to dim the lights and focus on nothing but the music – this time we did the opposite, looking at movie trailers, Craig’s pictures, our phones, we had a barrage of input because that’s the life we all live now.” Lead singer Sam McTrusty said, “Everyone is fully stimulated all the time, that’s why there’s so much going on in the songs, that’s by design.”

Diving into the themes of the record, McTrusty explains; “The album is inspired by colours, moods, memories. We just got into a room and started creating. The studio as its own instrument reached a new level – we created nothing outside those walls and it became a physical embodiment of the album itself. ‘POWER’ is our own example that there’s always a way forward when you are faced with limitations and red lights. It’s reignited our ambition and drive for what we can achieve.”

“Hearing these songs, that’s what I feel and hear: power,” concludes McTrusty. “And that’s what the last two years have made us feel as a band: totally empowered.”
